A meeting place for learning, exchanging and creating. The CCOC contributes so that professionals involved in olive oil production, specialists in nutrition and investigators in gastronomic research have a meeting place and point of connection at this centre. We regularly organise:

The Olive Oil Tasting Club
Club was created as a result of the collaboration between the Catalan Oil Culture Centre (CCOC) in La Granadella and the Oil and Wine Practical Training Course at the Josep Vallverdú Secondary School in Les Borges Blanques. Its purpose is to bring together a group of people from different areas to taste different oils, to comment and debate on the latest novelties in oil tasting, pairing, and so on.
The Club is coordinated by Josep M. Audí, a teacher at the Oil and Wine Practical Training Course at the Josep Vallverdú Secondary School and a member of the Oil Tasting Panel of the Ministry of Agricultural of the Catalan Government.
This open debating table aims to disseminate the culture of extra virgin olive oil in different areas and to encourage the gastronomic and touristic promotion of Les Garrigues region.
We collaborate with the University of Lleida (the UdL) to encourage research and the promotion of oil tourism.
In collaboration with the Tourism Chair at the University of Lleida, the CCOC is also involved by being an active stakeholder in encouraging oil tourism activities.
Along these lines, in 2016, we collaborated with the Summer University of the University of Lleida by offering the course in "Oil Tourism. Tourism 2.0 and Creative Gastronomy. A Practical Workshop" which was given at the Catalan Oil Culture Centre.
Other collaborations and projects
In 2018, we participated in the project Diagnosis of the value chain of oil and of its business creation potentials, promoted by Les Garrigues County Council.
In 2019, we offered the1st Extra Virgin Forum: oil and the territory,a meeting to set up joint actions to improve the commercialisation of extra virgin olive oil and to boost agricultural tourism in the rural municipalities of Les Garrigues, Urgell and the Segrià Sec.
